I’ve made myself accessible to listen to your concerns, while bringing new ideas and solutions to the city council to address our ongoing needs.

FIRST TERM ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Community Engagement. Economic Development. Public Safety. Grover Beach.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Community engagement is my passion and a fundamental part of my work. This year, I have happily dedicated copious hours connecting with our community through events, meetings, phone calls, one-on-one conversations, office hours, and more. I remain committed to being accessible and addressing any issues that arise.

PUBLIC SAFETY

In 2025, I supported public safety initiatives, including the social host ordinance addressing illegal fireworks use to provide our Grover Beach Police Department with citation tools, and continued backing the Five Cities Fire Authority's weed abatement program to help keep our homes safe from fire hazards. We also started training on the ladder truck, a new addition to our FCFA Fleet.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

I helped initiate discussions about providing one-time grants to support businesses affected by the Grand Ave. Streetscape construction and supported the collaboration with the South County Chambers of Commerce to keep our business community informed about important updates.

BALANCED BUDGET

Year after year, our city has successfully maintained a balanced budget with healthy reserves. Our city is able to maintain a balanced budget by efficiently providing essential services that align with our community's needs while ensuring responsible financial management.

WHAT DOES KASSI BELIEVE IN?

Community Engagement and Economic Development will always be priorities for Kassi. But what is she looking at now for the future?

THE POTENTIAL OF GROVER BEACH

Grover has always been about potential. All my life, some version of “what does grover beach want to be when we grow up” has been said. There’s the West Grand Avenue plan that lays out the concept - With state and local updates to the general plan, zoning and development codes, the city has provided the opportunity for the vision of those documents to take shape and come to life. Change is hard and can be extremely terrifying, but my vision for our city and as your Mayor is to support these opportunities for economic development, for revitalization to our main thoroughfare to bring the community together, and for Grover to continue being a leader in reaching our Regional Housing Needs Allocation from the state.

THE ROADS OF GROVER BEACH

The efforts to enhance residential streets through the K-14 measure are progressing well, with over 70% of the work already completed. I intend to keep making decisions that enhance our residential streets while strategically addressing necessary maintenance. By doing this, the city can complete upcoming work with minimal disruptions. This crucial work will not only beautify our neighborhoods but also contribute to safer driving conditions for all residents.

THE PUBLIC SAFETY OF GROVER BEACH

Supporting public safety is critical for fostering a secure and thriving community. Over the past year, we have made significant strides in equipping our police and fire departments with the tools they need to effectively serve and protect us. I will continue to advocate for thorough training, the implementation of development programs, and continued research of new ordinances designed to decrease crime and address fire hazards. By supporting public safety, we improve our community's overall well-being and foster a sense of trust and teamwork between residents and emergency responders.
